I was there first day of amp show, the 2x12 cab tried in the second half of the vid sounded like it had blown speakers when I tried it w/ the 50 watt head. Although the port in the back made the cab sound nice and the sound blossom in the room, I can't say I would call these emminence speakers true fanes.. Power scaling isn't something, I'm looking for being a true hiwatt owner and fan, I love my Hylite era 103's and 201.
I just don't feel a plexiglass panel underneath the amp head is necessary either... you wanna know what it looks like inside... remove the chassis.
Hiwatt sound unbelievable but they aren't for people who like to play w/ mistakes.
A 103 clone was what I was looking for there that day at least. Circuitry wise there alot of rumors that these don't fit hylite era standards... Partridge transformers make a Hiwatt sound!
There are a bunch of other HIWATT clone or wannabe amps out there.. or build your own? Fernandes, Music Ground, Matamp made some, as did Audio Bros, Harry Joyce(RIP) brand, there are still plenty of originals out there.
