This all tube thoroughbred shares a class with only one other amplifier and that is the mighty Mesa Road King. Infact the Roadster is a Road King but one that has been stripped down to its most essential features. One FX Loop instead of two. One set of speaker jacks instead of two switchable sets. And simplier power tube switching with four 6L6's but no EL34's.
Up front are the same four foot-switchable preamps-each one offering three different voicing. Channels 1 and 2, both offer shimmering CLEAN and fuller FAT modes so you can dial in two ultimate rhythm sounds. And either one can be pushed over the threshold into a low gain clip. Louder & More is the result of a collaboration between the Mad Professor Bjorn Juhl and Tubewonder Aleksander Niemand! These are part of a limited edition hand-signed by Alex and Bjorn. Power is variable from about 1 watt to 3.5 watts making this the perfect bedroom or studio machine. The tone is killer- Very musical and a level above most other products. Features 2 channels- Clean and Gain (footswitchable) and an effects loop. Other specs and features include: LOUDER - sort of a Master Volume placed after the preamp and Loop, Smooth ... Rough - Midrange balance tone control, active only in Rough mode selected with footswitch. Neat on footswitch is a clean mode but it will go hefty gnarl with hot pups. Volume knob on your guitar is, with this amp, an efficient distortion/overdrive control. Use it ;-) MORE - continuously variable Triode-Ultralinear-Pentode mode for the power tube. As you go clockwise it goes towards pentode mode with varying degrees of ultralinear. At the same time two more things happen: Max available output power goes from ca 1W in triode mode to 3.5W in pentode mode and a very efficient presence boost is gradually introduced. FX-LOOP: Can be used as a lead boost when no effects are plugged in and for a secret sound try plugging a guitar into the Return socket, toggle up to +15db position and play the blues.
