The story behind this Amp goes back to when the owner let this fall out the back of his truck, chattering the cabinet that was holding the electronics along with the speakers, but luckily the electronic component survived.
This is the 1965 Fender Super Reverb Guitar Tube Amp Head, Black Face, serial number A04643.
The Fender Super Reverb Amp just went through our shop, got new tubes and caps, everything works including the reverb which is newly installed.
If you love the sound of this Fender Super Reverb Amp but don?t want to carry any of the weight this is perfect for you.
Built Pre CBS, original Fender Electrical Instruments, both channels functioning, channel one has volume, treble, bass and a bright switch, channel two has the bright switch, volume, treble, mid range, bass, reverb, speed and intensity.

Original Vintage Matchless Super Chief 120! Genuine Sampson Era head- Rare 1 of only 60 made!!! This is a 120 Watt, Class A BEAST! There were only 60 of them made back in the Mark Sampson days of Matchless and they seem to have developed a cult-ish following. Players who have this amp seem to love it. It is a stripped down tone machine without tons of features. The idea; a straight forward Preamp Section combined with Class A power for pure tone at ear splitting volumes. The amp is rather nice shape. The handle is a little messed up but if you are picking up ANY 80 lb amp by the handle, you may want to reassess your habits! Aside from that, and a little dust here and there, this baby is in surprisingly good shape. Here is a blurb from a Big Fan of the Matchless Superchief....
The single channel Matchless SuperChief is completely stripped of any fancy extras except for a high/low gain switch, a high/low power switch for choosing between tube and solid-state rectifiers, and an effects loop. All parts are handwired to terminal strips - there's not a single pc board in sight. Shock-mounted tube sockets hold the EL34 tubes and dual 5AU4 rectifiers securely in place. It's also chocked full of carbon resistors, metal-film capacitors, and over-rated ten-watt screen resistors.
As for the SuperChief's four tone control knobs- No matter where they're set the amp sounds good. Huge, glassy, 3-D clean tones with lots of headroom, even with the gain switch set to the high setting. Like any other amp with such a distinct character, you're either going to love or hate the Matchless, but if you love it, it's worth the cost at twice the price.
