For sale is my ENGL Powerball 1 with custom purple tolex by Zilla Cabs. I am moving into a flat and now not playing in a band so I want to scale down my guitar set up to a combo. I have already sold the cab so the amp head is not being used at all now. A four-channel, all-tube powered 100-watt amp head with 6L6GC tubes. The 6L6's were replaced about a year ago although I think the pre-amp tubes may starting to become a little microphonic. I have heard at very loud volumes the mobile phone interference that can sometimes occur in electronics.

Dr. Z's newest creation, the StangRay, is the result of his second collaboration with superstar country guitarist Brad Paisley. After the success of their first partnership, Z and Paisley wanted to develop an amplifier that offered an additional pallet of tones to work alongside the Prescription Extra Strength. Using the classic 4x EL-84 setup the new Stang Ray tips its hat to classic British tones, but like all Dr.Z amps, has its own unique voice. The preamp uses an EF-86 with a 12AX7 phase inverter. Tone shaping is accomplished via the Volume, Tone, and Cut controls. It's easy to dial up a warm tone with sweet 3k range brilliance for beautiful upper trebles and nice low-midrange control. The output transformer was designed by Ken Fischer (Trainwreck), who also worked with Dr.Z on the Airbrake. This amp nails that pre Top-Boost, early AC-30 sound.
