This guitar amp is loaded with custom-designed Eminence® Speakers, 50 Watts/8 Ohms each, 8 Ohms Total Load.Channel 1 offers a range of Fender® styles, from chiming clean to sizzling, saturated tweed' tone. The cunning Punch control sets the amount of midrange break-up and overdrive, and a Bite™ button tightens the low end and adds brightness. Things get much more raunchy over in Channel 2, with amp sounds ranging from crunchy Marshall®, to gnarly Vox® AC30, to slamming Mesa® Rectifier styles. A Weep™ button increases the amount of even harmonics and thickens the sound. The combo amp's powerful and sophisticated midrange control, appropriately named Growl™, can produce brutal scooped' tones without any loss of girth or volume. Master section features active Low and High EQ controls, master Reverb and Boost. Midrange is individually controlled by Punch in Channel 1 and by Growl in Channel 2. Top-of-the-line, full-length Accutronics® 6-spring reverb. Boost function, for solos, increases the volume level up to 9dB without altering your tone. Unique Link button connects the Boost and Reverb functions to increase the size of your sound as well as the volume. Headphone output, which doubles as a 1/4" direct out. Multi-function footswitch (included) selects channels, activates the Reverb and Boost functions and engages the Effect Loop. “The Z-28 is a 6V6 based amp. It utilizes the format of the Route 66, that is, a EF-86 pre- amp, a unique Volume, Bass, and Treble full drive tone stack, and a tube rectified power supply. The Z-28 is rated at approximately 22 watts, so it fits under the Route 66 and the KT-45. It has a more American type tone, which some have described as Brown Tolexed Deluxe. The sweet sparkle of the 6V6 is ever present, along with a smooth full distortion at a very useable volume level. I have maintained a very tight bottom end, something that has been lacking in some 6V6 designs. Electro-Harmonix 6V6 at a reasonable 375 Volt plate level, I was very impressed with this tube and knew I had to design an amp which used it.”
