 This Peavey Sensation 20 is a prototype formerly owned by Earl Slick, David Bowies main guitar player for many years (see pic where it says prototype right on the amp). Earl has also recorded with John Lennon (on Double Fantasy), Ian Hunter, John Waite, Leo Sayer, and many others. He replaced Brian Setzer in The Stray Cats when The Cats self destructed to form Phantom, Rocker, and Slick with Slim Jim Phantom and Lee Rocker. The amp comes with a signed letter of authenticity from Earl and an autographed photo of Earl with the amp (see pix).   The stock Peavey Sensation is a 20-watt amplifier and employs three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two EL84 cathode-biased output tubes. Earl had this prototype hot rodded to 40 watts, so it kicks butt even better than the stock version, which kicks butt pretty good (see online reviews). The Sensations standard front-panel controls include pre gain, treble, middle, bass and post (master volume). The rear panel consist of dual speaker outputs with an impedance selector. Effects Send and Return jacks are included optional equipment Hand-wired in the USA at the Peavey 19th Street Custom Shop   20 watts, modded to 40 watts  Class AB  Single-channel design  2 x EL84 output tubes, cathode biased  3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes  4, 8, 16 ohm impedance selector  Custom color tolex  Effects loop  Prototype Sounds like a brownface deluxe and an AC30 had a baby on steroids. Sharp cleans, nice grit, strong definition. It smokes everything else out there.
