DIY Build or Rebuild Kit for a Fender Style 5F1 Tweed Champ Amplifier. A Classic Single-Ended, Cathode-Biased Little Beauty. Approximately 5W with a Single Volume Control, this makes for a Perfect Bedroom, or Recording Amplifier. A GREAT BUILD FOR THE BEGINNER!!
The kit includes Turret Board, Mallory 150 series or Orange Drop Coupling Capacitors, Sprague Atom Electrolytics, High Quality Carbon Comp Resistors, Alpha Potentiometer with On/Off Switch, Chicken Head Knob, Belton Sockets, Switchcraft Jacks, Fuse Holder, and Power Cord; Transformers: Fender Style Champ Power Transformer(40-18027) and Output Transformer(40-18030), or you may choose our 15W SE OT (40-18031) for increased headroom and wattage capability! (see drop down menu)). Transformers are all Made in USA. The Power Transformer has a Dual Primary of 120/240V. The Output Transformer has outputs for 4 & 8 ohms. We will also include all the Cloth Push-Back (or Teflon, your choice) Wire you need to do the job. Tear the guts out of that solid state combo or cruddy head and build this inside. Great for DIY Builds. All you need is a Chassis, Cabinet, & Speaker!!! Upgrading to the 40-18031 15W OT will not automatically make your amplifier 15W. If you use this OT with a standard 6V6GT, the headroom and overall bandwidth will increase. If you wish to gain additional wattage from this amplifier by using a 6L6GC, EL34, or KT66, in addition to upgrading to the larger OT, we suggest using a 470 ohm 10W cathode resistor instead of the stock 5W resistor for increased durability. That resistor is listed here: 470 ohm 10W All Transformers are all Made in USA. Transformers are warranted by the manufacturer against defects of materials & workmanship for 6 months from date of purchase. Warm up that soldering Iron!!!
