(w/Sound Monitor Port) The guitar offered is a unique handmade and hand carved Blueberry Acoustic Grand Concert guitar serial number GC0802111 with intricate carvings of Celtic lions. This guitar was delicately hand made under the supervision and guidance of master American Luther and Educator, George Morris and Master Balinese Wood Carver Wayan Tuges. The highest quality specially selected woods that were chosen specifically for their sound, resonance, beauty and acoustic characteristics and this guitar has gone through a rigorous series of quality control checks before it was given a serial number and offered for sale. The sound of each Blueberry guitar is unique and our guitars are known to produce extraordinary volume and clarity while at the same time being incredibly light and very easy to play. It takes the combined skills of both a Master Luthier and a Master Carver over 60 days to produce each Blueberry guitar. This guitar was completed on February 11th, 2008 and is our 144th guitar. There is a fingerprint of the Master Balinese Wood Carver on the inside label to certify its authenticity. The top is Canadian Cedar, the back and sides are Walnut and the neck is a combination of Ebony, and Mahogany. The bridge, fret board and headstock are Ebony and the fret board inlay of two lions facing each other is Jack Wood. The Rosette is carved Ebony. The nut and saddle are bone. All Blueberry Guitars are made with solid woods and use standard wood thicknesses - we do not use thicker woods to adjust for the carvings. ABOUT THE SOUND MONITOR PORT The sound monitor port on the top side of the guitar is designed to allow extra volume that is projected towards the ear of the player and while not affecting the forward trajectory of the sound towards the audience. Petros acoustics built with 120 year old Redwood from tunnel 13, built in the 1880's and the site of The Last Great American Train Robbery. The amazing timbers used in this tunnel were from virgin, old growth redwood trees that were up to 2500 years old. A fire in the tunnel in 2004 caused the tunnel to cave in and Petros got some of the salvage. Tom used a thicker, higher pole piece to take advantage of the sustaining qualities of our metal. A solid block of aluminum alloy is machined to our proprietary thickness. This is the thickness that we found in our researching and prototyping to have the best qualities for sound. The guitar is hollowed out, but plays, as it is intended, as a solid body guitar. The chromed body is 17 " long from the tip of the top horn to the back, 13 1/2 " at the widest body point, with a 7 3/4" waist. The guitar weighs 9.75 lbs. Neck - Ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and 25 1/2" scale, 1.71" wide @ nut, 2.22" wide @ 22nd fret. The tilt-back headstock eliminates the need for a string tree and provides crisper open notes. We use a graphite nut which incorporates Teflon and match the grooves to each guitar's intonation. This makes the guitar exceptionable playable.
