BOSS's COSM Acoustic-Modeling technology is beautifully showcased in this small but powerful pedal, which simulates an acoustic guitar much more precisely and realistically than previous technology has allowed. Derived from BOSS top-of-the-line AD-8, the AC-3 pedal simulates the sound of an acoustic guitar with incredible precision. Four simulation modes are provided: Standard, Jumbo, Enhanced, and Piezo-equipped; the latter supplies that famous "cut through the mix" direct piezo sound. This is our take on the classic Tube Screamer. We have changed the clipping diodes to a clear the tone of the overdrive, Tamed the mid range hump, Added more range of gain. It can clean up nicely or go over the top gain wise. The tone control is much more responsive and musical than the original. We use the RC4558 op amp with a JRC4558 stacked on top to reduce the noise of high gain settings. We use high grade parts through out. Neutrik jacks for durability. High brightness LEDs for dark stages. True hard wired bypass. we hand polished a design on each enclosure then paint with a translucent paint so the design is visible trough the paint.
