The PS #2032 Private Stock Single Cutaway Hollow-body 1 Electric Guitar represents a rare opportunity for customers to own an incredible and truly one-of a kind guitar. The PS #2043 features an unusual thin-line single cutaway body design with a superb curly maple top finished in stunning glacial blue, and a South American mahogany back and neck. This body has been carved inside and out with only a small block under the bridge connecting the back and top, and offers brilliant acoustic qualities for a thin-line hollow electric. The PS 2043 has a 25" scale, a wide fat neck profile, and a 22-fret Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with a 10" radius. This is an extremely comfortable guitar that is lightweight and well-balanced, played seated or standing. The PS 2043 is adorned with beautiful white mother-of-pearl and paua purfling around the top, fingerboard and truss rod cover. (paua is the lusterous blue-green shell of a harvested New Zealand sea snail). The head-stock is topped with a Brazilian rosewood veneer that highlights a mother-of-pearl eagle and the fingerboard is dressed with mother-of-pearl bird inlays.The acclaimed 1957/2008 pickups offered on this guitar achieve an amazing assortment of both vintage and modern sounds. PRS has obtained exclusive rights to the original pickup wire used in the most revered pickups in the 50's. These rights was granted in 2008, and 1957 was the year the humbucker was first commercially available, hence the 1957/2008 name. These pickups are fitted with classic nickel covers.
