A pair of special EMG 40CS-TW single/dual coil mode pickups and Aguilar OBP-3 3-band active tone controls let you mold your tone. Additional sound shaping is provided by a stack pot knob for bass and treble boost/cut, a single midrange push/pull knob that allows you to select the center-mid frequency of 400-800, as well as 2 push/pull style volume knobs for selecting the single or double coil mode on the pickup. Description: 1972 Gibson Les Paul Bass in natural finish.Cosmetic Condition: Super cool vintage vibe - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches & light play wear. There is some finish damage on the back of the headstock over the serial number. Included with the bass is a signed letter from Chicago Music Exchange (who previously owned the bass) discussing this issue: ""the indentation & partial damage of the serial number on the back of the headstock was caused by the bass resting on a hot tube amp for long periods of time, thereby burning off some of the lacquer."" It is impossible to verifty the validity of this story. However, the serial number is still quite legible & the damage is purely cosmetic; not structural.Neck: Slender profile mahogany neck with 2-ply black & white binding. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Three original Gibson tuners; one unoriginal Gotoh tuner - all are in perfect working condition. 1 9/16"" nut width; 30 1/2"" scale length.Body: Contoured, solid mahogany ""sandwich"" body with multi-bound top.
