" I've been saving two pieces of 175 year old Pine for a few guitars now for a while, and now I am finally getting around to making them. This is Piney #1, made from ultralight one piece pine taken from a barn in Pa.; the beams were part of an insane asylum that dates to 1820! The wood is unreal in it's natural patina, the tone produced from these bodies is the driest, snappiest tone I've ever heard. The knots are so dense they are almost petrified! This wood is a router bit's nightmare. This guitar was a pleasure to build, and it sounds amazing. It features a huge rosewood slab neck, with aged maple that I dyed a dark walnut. it is hand rubbed in Nitro lacquer. The body I french polished using the old world techniques, and it feels like the varnish of an old fiddle.The guitar features custom made Jake Jones pickups, that are simply killer. A thick overwound Alnico 3 flatpole bridge pickup with a custom single blade JJ neck pickup that sounds like a P-90 on steroids! This is a very aggressive sounding guitar, and not for the faint of heart. The instrument also features CTS pots, a NOS wax tone cap, hand aged hardware, hand machined saddles, and a groovy gold anodized guard. It even features a large spike gouge through the body from it's previous duties as a barn beam! "

Breedlove is building no more than 25 Jeff Tweedy Signature Limited Edition 000 Acoustic Guitars. That fact alone should be enough to make these guitars a collector's item while honoring Grammy winner Tweedy.Wilco's Jeff Tweedy first saw a Revival 000 guitar in 2006 in a Chicago music shop. While waiting for another purchase, he saw a limited edition Breedlove Revival 000 12-fret Calendar guitar (from the 2006 Calendar Series). After playing that guitar for a few minutes, he added it to his bill, and walked out of the store with it. That Revival 000 guitar soon became a stage and studio favorite. Jeff asked Wilco's road manager to find another one to use as a backup.Appointments in DetailDuring preliminary discussions about themes for this guitar, Jeff mentioned an interest in bees, spurred by his reading of a book by beekeeper and writer William Longgood, called The Queen Must Die. With a bee theme in mind, Breedlove designed a headstock inlay for the prototype guitar, showing a flower and a single bee. The inlay has since grown in complexity to feature a beautiful flower and vine pattern with 2 honeybees gathering pollen from the flower.The fret markers are honeycombs, fashioned from gold pearl. this has a very rare Ice Tea Sunburst finish w/an unusual maple 3 piece top w/the center section highly flamed maple like an early version of a "Spot Light Special" would have been, it is one of the last w/a 3 piece mahogany neck, this Les Paul is near mint & completely original other than the original owners son took a pen & drew inside the stamped serial #'s on the back of the headstock & left a few marks, overall these are getting scarce & this is one of the best & most unusual ones I have ever had, comes w/it's original hard shell case.<
