This is a Classic Martin Dreadnought with a rare sunburst finish that has grown more beautiful over the years. This is a 1976 model D-35 that I purchased new. As with most Martin D-35's this guitar has great volume and a deep bass tone that has also improved with age.
This is a great rhythm guitar, and I have found it perfect for finger picking because of its wide neck. This guitar is a great instrument for slide players as well. The clear tone and volume you get from using a bottle neck with this Martin is something special. The pick guard is pulling away a bit but the body is pretty much perfect for a 30 year old acoustic that has traveled with me everywhere. The craftsmen at Yamaha specially redesigned the guitars in their CG series with slightly thinner sides and back as well as a thinner finish to deliver better sound response. These instruments also have thinner necks to increase playability, and are slightly lighter in weight, offering greater volume as well as extended comfort. The overall results are instruments that deliver a mature, balanced tone throughout their entire range with exceptional quality, durability and cost performance. more information »

This special edition D-18 acoustic guitar is Martin's loving recreation of the original 1937 guitar, now a highly sought-after collector's item. Crafted with mahogany back and sides, a solid Adirondack top with the X-brace and scalloped braces of the period, hide glue, vintage toner on top, ebony bridge with long saddle (2-5/16" string spacing), and a tortoise pickguard. The neck is also formed exactly as the original and reinforced with a traditional non-adjustable T-bar. Ebony fretboard (1-3/4" nut, 25.4" scale), small abalone position dots, fossil ivory nut and saddle, ebony bridge pins, 30's style hardshell case. The features and details add up to a true masterpiece of the luthier's art, with all the storied sound quality that graced the original pre-war guitar. more information »
