An exquisite bass that combines advanced technology with the finest craftsmanship. Stunningly flamed maple tops its premium alder body. Bartolini pickups with NTMB active EQ serve up the ultimate in tonal range and control. Its neck is a hi-tech marvel, an ultra-rigid D-shaped shell made from dozens of hand-formed layers of aerospace-grade, epoxy-impregnated carbon fibers and fitted with a fast, ultra-smooth phenolic fretboard. The neck's miraculous strength-to-weight ratio and extreme resonant peak produce a remarkably unclouded, even tone. It also transmits sound faster that wood, so articulation and attack dynamics are dramatically enhanced. Includes hardshell case. more information »

SKU: GS3084865
This is a Squier Fender Precision Special bass, Fender's attempt to produce a great bass at affordable prices. Read on, though, important details are here. This bass is a rare "Special" model, which means it combines the best of a Precision Bass and a Jazz Bass. Even though it has a Precision body, the neck is a thinner and smaller jazz bass type neck. This is often preferred by guitar players who switch to bass, or bass players with smaller hands. All bass players find they can have more speed with the Jazz style neck. Second, the "Special" model combines pickups. Normally a Precision has a set ogf split pickups in the center of the guitar. A jazz bass has a single "bar" pickup at the bottom of the guitar. The "Special" model has both. Its called the P/J version. In the case of this guitar, the Split pickups in the middle have been removed and replaced with a higher quality set of upgrade pickups. Yhe guitar has the rosewood fingerboard, not the foundation maple. Finally, the 3rd knob, which is a tone knob on many basses, is a phase reversal switch on this guitar. You slowly turn it and you can hear the point where phasing turns around. It allows a great variety of tones to come out of this bass.
This bass has been set up and adjusted far beyond factory standards. Sells for $599 originally, WITHOUT the upgrades and changes mentioned. I will sell it for the first $300 cash. No case, sorry, but gig bags are easily available, and cheap. Plays very well, easy action, nice sound. Email me here. I might consider trades if I can step UP with the trade, not down or sideways. This is what one would call a "hot rod" bass, though it stays fairly true to the great original sound. Considering what most pay for a bass, this is a great deal. more information »
