According to manufacturer the Steinberger Synapse is an innovative instrument by design, they claim it to be the first completely new Steinberger design in over a decade. Evocative of the original L series shape, it's a
hybrid instrument primarily made from wood but featuring a substantial composite core in the neck. This CybroSonic? neck imparts the stiffness and stability of a graphite neck. but allows the instrument to maintain the warmth of wood.
The Synapse line features other numerous improvements including a larger body with additional ergonomic sculpting, combination headpiece allowing use of both double and single ball end strings, and updated hardware including a new piezo bridge.
