" I've been saving two pieces of 175 year old Pine for a few guitars now for a while, and now I am finally getting around to making them. This is Piney #1, made from ultralight one piece pine taken from a barn in Pa.; the beams were part of an insane asylum that dates to 1820! The wood is unreal in it's natural patina, the tone produced from these bodies is the driest, snappiest tone I've ever heard. The knots are so dense they are almost petrified! This wood is a router bit's nightmare. This guitar was a pleasure to build, and it sounds amazing. It features a huge rosewood slab neck, with aged maple that I dyed a dark walnut. it is hand rubbed in Nitro lacquer. The body I french polished using the old world techniques, and it feels like the varnish of an old fiddle.The guitar features custom made Jake Jones pickups, that are simply killer. A thick overwound Alnico 3 flatpole bridge pickup with a custom single blade JJ neck pickup that sounds like a P-90 on steroids! This is a very aggressive sounding guitar, and not for the faint of heart. The instrument also features CTS pots, a NOS wax tone cap, hand aged hardware, hand machined saddles, and a groovy gold anodized guard. It even features a large spike gouge through the body from it's previous duties as a barn beam! "
