SKU: S1423 Greg's Guitars Atlanta brings yet another cool, collectible, rare vintage guitar to the table, The Sears brand guitar sold in the 60's, built by Harmony. Branded both by Harmony as the H-49.and as a Silvertone 1423 "Jupiter" model. These killer guitars are very similar in body shape to a Les Paul but with a semi-hollow body... It's incredibly light. This one weighs in at an even 5 pounds. The "Jupiter" is remarkably versatile with a great sound. It features two vintage and original DeArmond pick-ups built by "Rowe Industries", volume/tone for each pick-up and a three position selector. These are dated 1962.by the pot codes. Very little fret wear, open back original tuners, Nice medium sized neck, not a baseball bat nor is it to slim. The nut width is 1 and inches, rosewood adjustable bridge and tailpiece. Mother of pearl block inlays and rosewood fingerboard. This Guitar comes with a period correct possibly original yellow lined chip style hard case as well. There's also the sweet fifth knob...A rare "BLENDER" switch. This special control is activated when both pick-ups are in the middle position on the 3-way switch. The "BLENDER" knob gradually shifts the weight between the pick-ups. The vintage 1962 Silvertone "Jupiter" has an extremely wide range with the "Blender Circuit". It packs punch for such a small guitar, full of tonal options for recording or playing out with the band. And what is a blender switch? Its like having a wah-wah knob when the two pickups are engaged. It has at least a couple of uses. One is as a standard wah-wah type sound. Play a note while wrapping your pinky around the volume or tone knob, spin it back and forth and you have a classic wah type sound or, set it wherever you like in its tonal sweep and you have a stunning variety of tones from the two pickups blended.
