In 1960, the Les Paul Standard still had the flame maple top, sunburst finish, and "Patent Applied For" humbucking pickups of its predecessors, but a slim taper neck was added for a decidedly different feel. After 1960 the single cutaway Les Paul was replaced by the thin bodied double cutaway SG.
Now, the 1960 Standard is back in all its former glory.

She's historically accurate with a sweet LEMONBURST finish, a VERY RARE MONSTER FLAMETOP & MONSTER TONE! Very few R0s are being built, compared to the other Historics, and with a top and finish like this, she's a treasure.
The flamed maple top is awesome. It has continuous side-to-side curly tiger flame without any dead spots at all. It not only has looks, but this guitar is a lightweight tone monster as well. This amazing guitar plays like a dream, with tone and sustain to die for. It has a loud resonant tone even when unplugged. The guitar weighs in right at 9 lbs and has a nice dark rosewood fretboard. She's brand spanking new, MINT and comes with all the goodies!
The 1960 Reissues are the rarest of the Historic Les Paul series and are identical to the 1959 Reissue except the 1960 Reissue has the slim tapered neck, which is more comfortable when playing. The action is light and fast. All Gibson Les Paul Historic Reissues have: a non-weight relieved body, which means no weight relief holes – they get the lightest weight mahogany bodies available and the 2007’s are now thought by many to have the best sounding wood available. She has the long neck tenon for incredible sustain and a hand rubbed "thin" nitrocellulose lacquer finish like the originals which allows the wood to resonate better with a lightweight aluminum tailpiece and historically accurate thin body binding in the cutaway.
