SKU: V20344 Description: 1949 National New Yorker Lap Steel Electric Guitar
Condition: Very good condition. Various light scratches, weather checking and a couple large dings on the side. Overall looks great. Neck looks great with very light wear in areas of the fingerboard. All electronics and controls are in perfect working condition. This guitar requires an amphenol instrument cable (not included). It can be found and purchased online for relatively cheap.
Body: Mahogany square end body with stairstep sides and black/white tuxedo finish. Chrome plated bridge, square pickup with see-through pickup cover, volume control, and tone control.
Neck: 23" scale length mahogany square neck with black fingerboard, white frets, multi-colored Roman numeral inlays, and a replaced bone nut. Headstock features original tuning machines with replaced tuning buttons.
Pickups/electronics: Original square pickup with master volume control and a tone control with settings for "Hawaiian", "Chimes", and "Harp".
Pickup: 2.68K Ohms.
While this pickup shows a relatively low ohm reading, it has plenty of great output and does not sound weak at all.
Set Up: Professionally set up by our guitar tech with .011 - .050 gauge round wound strings.
Weight: 6lbs, 12.0oz.
Playability/Sound: This lap steel delivers all the great tones that Nationals are known for. Great sustain and resonance with any kind of playing. Tone control adds different character and tonal options to this guitar that most other standard tone controls can't. Great looks, sound and playability!
Case: Includes original hard shell case.
