Welcome, you are looking at an incredibly rare acoustic! This is the 1930 Dobro Squareneck Resonator! The serial number on this beauty is 1847 which makes it a 1930! The Dobro company was only started in 1928/29 which makes this an insanely early piece- and a spectacular example to boot! 25" scale. 1.75" nut width. 11 3/16" resonator. Spider bridge. 14.5" bottom bout. 3 5/8" deep. Resonator cover marked: 1896484. This is the real deal folks, the only true way to obtain that classic Dobro tone! The build quality is second to none- this made it through two world wars in fine style! Tons of history here! Lay this on your lap and one strum will let you know you've found the one! The wood has aged nicely giving this Dobro that big majestic tone- beautiful bass response which balances the slide tones perfectly! The binding has shrunk in a tiny bit and there are some small compression marks where you would rest on your leg if in playing position- nothing that affects the tone or playability in any way. On the back of the neck in the pics- that is just glare from the lights. This is the cleanest example I've ever seen of a 1930! The hardshell case appears to be original as well!
