These fine Bluegrass banjos are hand built by Geoff Stelling and his crew in Afton, Virginia (though Geoff started out right here in San Diego) . At the core of every Stelling banjo is a Tony Pass “Lost Timber†rim and the proprietary Stelling flathead tone ring. The Sunflower has a figured maple resonator and neck and is finished with a rich gloss sunburst finish. The ebony fingerboard and headstock is inlaid with a traditional flower design in mother of pearl. Like all Stelling banjos, the Sunflower has a powerful voice with good bass and lots of volume. Excellent Original Condition 1922 Martin AK Koa Wood Mandolin. Rosewood binding, 20 fret ebony fingerboard, bar frets with small dot inlays, clamshell tailpiece. Newly completed fret work and set up with new strings. Great sounding flat back mando with a tight clear punchy sound - great for Old Time / Bluegrass / Celtic styles.
Comes with original Canvas Trap Case in very good original condition. Headstock personalized by original owner with glazed over transfer letter initials ("H.C.D." - as shown) and a small strap hole - both reversable if you feel the need.
