PRICE REDUCED AGAIN. I won't give it away but it is, at this time of weakness, going down the road. I never thought I'd sell this banjo because it is as close as I'll ever get to the Holy Grail (it's only a tone ring and $125k short of THG) but I want a new racing boat (1xsculler). 1931ish (FON 87-5), Gibson, RB-1 in very, very nice original condition. A tiny bit cleaner and more original than Greg Boyd's (Boyd's House of Fine Instruments) 1934 example but the case may not be in quite as good of condition. Very original including the quite flat flange and only slightly flared T-hoop. All hardware and wood 100% original, i.e. original rim in like new condition and un-cut. No capo spikes in fingerboard. more information »

SKU: NBB30446
NBB30446 One may ask: "What is it that gives Ome banjos that amazingly clear tone?" Chuck Ogsbury, the genius behind the Ome name (and also Ode in the '60s), has never been one to follow the designs of other makers. While many copy the flathead tone ring as seen on the 1930s Mastertones, Chuck instead set out to develop his own tone. Voila! the Mega-Tone tone ring. The Megatone tone ring hides nothing in its reproduction of the entire aural spectrum. Each note rings clear and true. Plenty of sparkling highs and lots of volume too. For devotees of the style of Bill Keith, Bobby Thompson, and Bela Fleck, An Ome banjo enhances the melodic style of playing. You should try it! With hard case. more information »
