The Lone Star has all: fit, finish and tone of his other non-metal tone ring models, clean peghead lines, a Dobson-style heel and a frailing scoop. It has a laminated neck with colored veneers running up each side of the center strip for strength, but without laminations under the peghead and fingerboard, 25.5" scale, double action truss rod, bone nut measuring 1-3/8", ebony fingerboard with side dots. The peghead sports a plain ebony overlay with 5 Star tuning pegs, and the wooden tone ring sits on an 11" two-ply rim with a Renaissance head and No Knot tailpiece, 14 brackets, neck woods and finish colors vary somewhat. Nechville's newest openback banjo, a joint venture with Wayne Sagmoen, sounds great! Walnut neck with ebony fretboard on a 12" diameter walnut block-style rim with a cocobolo tone ring. A wooden flange on the rim takes the place of bracket shoes. Sagmoen provides the pot and Nechville provides the neck and innovative neck attachment. Loosen the neck with an allen wrench to change the action height or remove it completely for travel. Reattaching it takes just a few minutes. Nechville logo in peghead, Saturn and star position inlays. Top edge of fretboard is scooped above 16th fret for good thumb access while leaving all frets available for up the neck play. Enterprise compensated bridge, straight-pulling Nechville tailpiece, Renaissance head, planetary gears, nickel hardware. Heavy duty TKL gigbag with thick padding, zippered accessory pocket.
