Angela Instruments proudly offers one Lindy Fralin Broadcaster Hybrid 5% Overwound Pickups Set! Set of two hand wound pickups (one bridge, one neck) brand new in the original factory box. If you dig the sound of early Roy Buchanan, early Danny Gatton and other country influenced roadhouse virtuosos as much as I do this is about as good as it gets. The bridge pickup has all .632 height level pole piece magnets except for a slightly higher .650" D string magnet for better string balance. In my opinion, bridge pickups like this one work best with 8.5" or greater radius fingerboards. If you've got a Tele with a rounder board you might want to consider a set with more magnet staggering like Fralin's "Stock" Telecaster pickups set.
Other bridge pickup features include black fibreboard coil form, waxed string coil wrap, copper clad steel bottom plate, careful wax potting to reduce microphonics and vintage style cloth covered output leads. The neck pickup sports a traditional chrome plated cover. This set has an RW/RP (reverse wound, reverse magnetic polarity) relationship for hum cancellation and optimum compatibility with both three-way and four-way pickup selector switches. The CROSSROADS SET(tm) (CRtm)
Patent-Applied-For ALL THE WAY ! They look the same, but SOUND BETTER, and cost a LOT LESS ! What's more, un-like the originals, these sound great EVERY TIME ! This set of pickups was built to replicate the tone from the song "Crossroads" from Cream's "Wheels of Fire" album. They have been tested extensively in an SG, a Firebird, and a Les Paul. Their construction was in the works for nearly a year at the behest of Michael Lawrence of the Contortions, Mikey, Gong/N.Y. Gong, National Health, World at a Glance, the U.S. "Surfin' with the Alien/Joe Satriani" tour, Rick Derringer.
