This EMG electric guitar pickup set gives you active EMG-85 and EMG-81 humbucker pickups. Both pickups include EMG's Quik-Connect™ cable, prewired split shaft volume/tone control set, output jack, battery clip set, screws, and springs.When a world class player asks for a custom 81/85 set of humbucker pickups in camouflage it's a matter of when, not how. The biggest challenge for EMG in designing these was in ensuring that the cap could withstand the typical punishment of picks and strings. EMG abandoned the standard paint and airbrush options and went with a more roadworthy and durable dipping method. The result was the EMG-CAMO SET, a quality bundle of EMG's classic 81 and 85 humbuckers in a camouflage design. As a special "thank you" to all of its fans, EMG has decided to make these collectable pickups available to the public. A limited run of 300 sets were made (with some going directly to artists now on tour), and there is no information on the EMG website as these will not be stock products. It is strictly a limited one-time production.EMG-81The EMG-81 is a high output pickup designed especially for lead guitarists. The 81 pickup is at its best for high-volume overdrive and amps with a master volume control. Whether you're playing power rock 'n' roll or overdriving your amp, there's a razor sharp attack and incredible sustain for brilliant soloing.EMG-85Although the EMG-85 electric guitar pickup has more measurable output than the 81, its frequency response and string interface are different. The 85 uses 2 Alnico magnet-loaded coils with a wide aperture to maintain a beefy low end and a fatter top end. Because the EMG-85 has a more natural tone, it works great as a rhythm and blues pickup because it has loads of output but isn't muddy. SH T-Pro is completely shielded and therefore 100% hum-free. It comes with an active Nanoflex pickup and a high quality endpin connection. The 9V battery is under the preamp and is easily accessible. The LED will turn on when the battery power is low and battery should be replaced within 30 minutes. Fastening screws are fixed into the plastic plugs and not into the wood of the instrument.The T-Pro s accurate and stable tuner will take care that you will never play out of tune as it shows note and tune status. When you turn the tuner on it mutes the output signal. The SAV is an overwound single coil pickup with hidden Alnico 5 pole pieces for tons of output and punchy attack. EMG has worked with Steve Lukather for over 13 years now and the latest result is the EMG-SAV active pickup. Steve's playing style and writing have produced several Grammy's that EMG is proud to be a part of. They'll develop just about anything Steve wants (within reason) and that's just what happened when Ernie Ball was revising the "Luke" Guitar. Steve along with Dudley Gimpel from Ernie Ball figured they'd try some new things on the Luke. Dudley told EMG they were trying pickups from other makers and they had to deliver something great to stay in contention.EMG developed the SAV and added their own special touch. The windings were increased for a meatier tone and they hid away the pole pieces for a more uniform look to the instrument (see the SL20 Pro-Series). Steve has always played a specially overwound SA pickup, so EMG used the original preamp from the SA pickup with flat Alnico 5 pole pieces hidden under the cover cap. The SA preamp gives the SAV its classic EMG sound while the flat poles put the pickup closer to the strings for more output and a punchier attack.
