Jim is a serious practitioner of jazz music and has performed all over the east coast. An active teacher, he has been on the jazz faculty at Fitchburg State College (Massachsetts), Rhode Island Community College, Bridgewater State (Mass.), and The College of Charleston (South Carolina). He has authored a number of jazz-studies texts, which are available here.
