Well it's official there is now a Shredder neck pickup. It's an unbalanced pickup that gives you the singing tone of the Darkburst with the detail, and drive of the Fillmore neck, all in a 9.2K pickup. I can't say just how great this pickup sounds. It really has the tone of the Crossroads neck with much more power, but some how Jim never lost the hollow mids, and dynamics of a great low powered PAF. This is the Zebra version. They are a special order but delivery is only a week in most cases, so if you are ordering them with other items, be aware that the full order will ship only when the pickups are ready to ship with no exceptions. The new RS Guitarworks "Super-Pot" has been in the works for several long months. These pots are manufactured by CTS specifically for RS Guitarworks. We designed the potentiometers to our specs, which exceed those of the CTS pots that are and have been the industry standard for over 40 years with Gibson®, Fender® etc. The RS Guitarworks "Super-Pot" is made with tolerances that are twice as tight as the normal CTS 500k pots used in even the most expensive Les Pauls® etc. We also had the cheap aluminum shaft replaced with brass for more durability. We chose CTS’s old-school heavy carbon resistance path instead of the inferior silk-screening currently used by many other makers. And perhaps most important, we custom designed the taper specifically for the volume position of electric guitar. Our custom taper gives smooth even response throughout the range of motion. You will not experience any steep drop-offs or uneven taper. Together these features represent what is without doubt the ultimate potentiometer for electric guitar applications. These RS Super-Pots are available in both short and long shaft to cover most any guitar application where a 500k pot is suitable.

These second generation pickups are as close to the tone of the 1960 PAF's you can get without a time machine or $5000! They are copied down to the last detail and each magnet is hand tested in shop to insure they are just like the real deal. Each part is hand aged so not only do they sound old, they look it. If you want a classic, fat PAF tone, these pickups smoke. The bridge pickup reads 8.5k and the neck reads 7.7k. This is a hybrid set with one antique white bridge pickup and one zebra neck pickup. These RS/PAFs are made for RS by Lindy Fralin, and are exact copies of the real 1960 PAFs found in Roy’s main Les Paul®. There tone is very smooth with a great single coil sting for that P-90 cut through. They do a great job of getting that old Dickey Betts and early Jimmy Page tone. The neck pickup reads 7.4K and the bridge is 8.1K both have unbalanced coils and are unspotted with Alnico IV magnets. These pickups are used by Greg Martin of the Kentucky Headhunters (listen to his clips on our look who’s using RS page).
