EC, well here's a very nice and interesting banjo that just puzzles us. It was sold in 2006 by another dealer as a genuine 1960's Vega banjo, although we have frankly never seen anything quite like it, so we're just not sure. Features include ~10-15/16" wood rim with ~1/4 tone hoop, 24 brackets, 19/32" rim thickness, herringbone trim on inside and outside of bottom of rim, thick mother-of-pearl rim cap with w-b trim on both sides, dual coordinator rods, old Remo plastic head, recent No Knot tailpiece. The maple neck features a natural finish, heavily carved heel in a floral pattern, white-bound ebony fretboard with pearl dot and some fancy inlays, 5 geared tuners with pearl buttons, "VEGA" inlaid in pearl in the rosewood headstock plus pearl stars in the headstock and rosewood heel cap, ~27" scale, 1-3/16" nut width, there is a brass plate on the inside of the rim that says "THE VEGA CO.
