This Taylor 416CE LTD Grand Auditorium Acoustic/Electric features Tasmanian Blackwood back, sides, and top (which has a tone and look similar to Hawaiian Koa) with white purfled binding that extends to the headstock (although it isn't purfled on the neck), abalone rosette, Taylor Expression System electronics, venetian cutaway, tropical American mahogony neck with a 15 inch radius (very thin), ebony fretboard/bridge with diamond inlays with 20 frets, indian rosewood headstock overlay, chrome-plated sealed tuners, and comes in a satin finish with a glossy top.
This guitar is a limited edition release from Taylor for the year 2008. It is a step above the 416CE, with its beautiful Tasmanian Blackwood back, sides, and top, diamond inlays, and abalone rosette. This guitar isgood looking, and the Blackwood has an interesting physical characteristic in the way it reacts to different kinds of lighting (it has some traces of yellow and red in the wood along with the brown), which is pretty cool. At last... The Mick Ronson Tribute Les Paul! Mick emerged in the early 70's as the leader of ''The Spiders from Mars'', David Bowie's back up band that launched Ziggy Stardust. Mick sanded down the top on the guitar as he’d been told it would improve the sound. True or not, it made the guitar visually unmistakable. Mick played this Custom throughout the Bowie years and on every project he worked on until he retired it to the Hard Rock Cafe Australia in 1982. In 2001 it was moved by Rick Tedesco to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where it was on display for 2 years. I’ve received 100s of e-mails on it and thought, since there were so many tribute guitars out, there should be something for the Ronson fan! I approached Suzy and Lisa Ronson, and they thought it was a great idea but we knew it had to be something special. Limited to 100 units, each guitar will be modified to the specs of Mick's original LP. We are the only people that can do this because we have the original guitar. Also included will be an 8x10 Mick Rock photo, Certificate of Authenticity signed by Suzy Ronson, Lisa Ronson and Rick Tedesco, a copy of Mick's biography, a Ronson guitar pick, and one of Mick's record albums from his personal collection! Each guitar is numbered 1 to 100 and has a decal of Mick's signature on the back of the headstock. The guitar is manufactured in the historic division of the Gibson Custom shop and features a carved maple top, mahogany back and neck, binding on body/neck/headstock, aged hardware, Gibson ABR bridge/stopbar tailpiece, 2 Gibson humbucking pickup's with covers removed, two volume, two tone, 3-way switch, 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays, 24 3/4'' Scale, 1 11/16'' Nut Width, natural unfinished top with ebony back and neck, Gibson Custom Shop hardshell case. This guitar was hand made by master luthier Terry Nobles. It has some minor nicks from normal playing. The headstock was cracked, not uncommon for this Les Paul-style neck, but was professionally repaired by Noble. The repair is stronger than the surrounding wood. There is no fret wear. Aside from cosmetic wear (webmaster's note: mostly on the back) the guitar plays flawlessly.

This Judy Collins Signature Edition Martin 12-String dreadnaught features some of the finest tonal woods available: a three-piece "wedge-style" back with a center wedge of Pacific Bigleaf Maple bordered by two pieces of Indian rosewood, which also comprise the sides of this guitar. It also features a solid headstock bound and polished with a black ebony overlay, inlaid with a silver Martin logo and Judy Collins columbine logo in green abalone with a mother of pearl border around the headstock. The Schaller Chrome tuners have ebony knobs which compliment the headstock. The neck is solid mahogany with a satin finish for easy playing, a 1 7/8" nut width, and the fretboard is ebony inlaid with abalone snowflakes. The top is bookmatched sitka spruce, and is bordered with herring-bone and bound with ivoroid bingings, has a green abalone rosette around the soundhole, and a black beveled and polished pickguard. This beautiful guitar comes with a Geib-style hardshell case!
This guitar is part of an estate sale from the passing of John Welsh, a geniunely nice guy and avid guitar collector that I had the privledge of knowing and working with. We have several guitars here that John had aquired over the last 15 years. All of these guitars were kept in a climate controlled viewing facility and were kept in pristine condition at all times. Many are one offs built to his specifications by some of todays top luthiers using the most exotic tonewoods available. Money was no object in Johns quest for the ultimate in craftsmanship and tone. Performance Shape Casting™ is the new process, uniquely suited to graphite instruments, which allows RainSong necks and fret boards to be cast as a single graphite matrix.
