Eagerly awaited for several years, the 24-fret Modern model was introduced to great fanfare in January, 2008 at NAMM in the Anaheim Convention Center. The Modern is John Suhr's vision and realization of the ultimate 24-fret bolt-on solid-body guitar. It is super sleek with its downsized body and extended horns.
The neck heel has been completely redesigned for super easy access to the highest frets - including the two extra frets to hit that high-E! The new neck shape designed specifically for this guitar is based on an early-80's shape that is fast and slim but not too thin with enough girth for your hand to grab onto when you want to dig in with bluesy string bends.The balance between the body and the neck needs to be rethought out as well. John Suhr spent many months looking at the most popular 24-fret bolt-on guitars on the market and wanted to offer something a little different but still familiar to those who have played such guitars for many years.

The Goldfinger is based around the rich harmonic textures of the 6V6 tube, "they have this nice warm dirt with a creamy break up at fairly low volumes, sing like EL34's but have more chime for cleaner bell like tones". A power amp with the finesse of a Bull Rider, you know "the art of hanging loose, hanging just as tight", combined with the many sonic fragrances of the pre amp circuit and you have a complex harmonic Universe at your service! A quartet of 6V6's is used to have 45W of clean headroom available but power can be scaled down to 30, 18 and 9 watts.
The Goldfinger is a two channel vintage voiced guitar amplifier with the common Bogner flexibility. Each channel, one called Alpha, the other Omega, features multiple controls and switches to customize the sound to your personal preference. The combination of the channels with the availability of a pre and post effects loop makes this amplifier a Guitar System which let's you route your guitar signal as needed without downloading the original audio signal.
The post effects loop is the more common found loop between pre amp and power amp. The loop can be operated in series or parallel and has a level switch to be set accordingly to the effects unit used. Parallel mode lets you mix your effects via a control to the pure dry signal. Series takes the entire dry signal and routes it through your effects unit, series can also be used as a volume boost.
The pre effects loop is unique and a first in amplifier designs. Actually not a first for Reinhold, in 1995 he designed and produced a 60 unit run of the hand wired Caveman Amplifier which featured a tube buffered pre effects loop. While this loop worked well and served its purpose for the 100% pure sound you still had to plug the guitar directly in to the channel inputs.
