1970 Gibson Johnny Smith "Custom Order", Excellent $13,500.00

This very special Johnny Smith was ordered new by it's only owner,Kenny Gill of Nashville fame,the studio master that played w/everyone from Chet Atkins to Joe Pass to Johnny Smith,this cool JS Special has an amber stained Spruce top w/gorgeous abalone border around the edge of the top,it has the craziest Quilted Maple back,sides & neck (w/no volute) that Gibson found,she's equipped w/1 powerful cream colored Charlie Christian pickup,the only pickup Kenny ever used,the top only has been oversprayed,otherwise she's 100% original,excellent overall,ohsc.  more information »

this has a very rare Ice Tea Sunburst finish w/an unusual maple 3 piece top w/the center section highly flamed maple like an early version of a "Spot Light Special" would have been, it is one of the last w/a 3 piece mahogany neck, this Les Paul is near mint & completely original other than the original owners son took a pen & drew inside the stamped serial #'s on the back of the headstock & left a few marks, overall these are getting scarce & this is one of the best & most unusual ones I have ever had, comes w/it's original hard shell case.  more information »
