Our Kits are a great choice if you really want to learn more about how your amplifier operates, too. You see, unlike many other Kit's, you are not totally locked in to only certain components, nor are you stuck with unchangeable circuit values which limit the versatility of your amplifier and further modifications. There are no "big secrets", you don't need permission from a "guru" to change or tweak it, the manual has instructions for about every change you could imagine making. Instructions are included for triode connecting the output tubes, which will give you a taste of hi-end triode-itis for the cost of 4 resistors, about $1. So, you've got a choice..you can just plug in & play, or you can do your own experimenting if you'd like to, learn a lot and become your own neighborhood Dynaco guru. And you won't break the bank doing it, either. Runs cooler, regulates better than original due to improved insulation technology that allows larger gauge secondary wire, resulting in about 25% less copper resistance on the secondary. Secondary is 330-0-330VAC at 180 ma DC rectified current, plus two 6.3V at 2.5 amp windings for filaments & pilot bulb. Primary is 120VAC 50/60 Hz. Measures 3 inches (78mm) high X 2 1/2 inches (64mm) wide by 3 7/8 inches (100mm) deep over end bells. Mounting hole bolt pattern us 2 inches (53mm) by 2 3/4 inches (70mm). Ship wt 5 lbs (approx 2.2 kg).

This is a complete kit for the DIYTube Dynaco ST35 tube amplifier. Includes everything you need to build a working amplifier. Includes a copy of the DIYTube instruction manual explaining assembly of the board and test voltage readings. Would make a Great iPod amp. Great project, easy to build and sounds great! Get yours today. Kits include our reproduction of the Dynaco Z565 output transformer as used on the Dynaco (tm) ST35 and SCA35 amplifiers, except that the output taps are 4 and 8 ohms, rather than the original 8 and 16 ohms, thus making this transformer useful where an original Z565 can't be used due to its lack of a 4 ohm output tap. The primary is wound the same as the original 565, same number of turns, sections and wire size, using the same patented Dynaco(tm) winding method, and made on the same core size and material. Only the secondaries have been adjusted to accomodate the different taps, and improved insulation material used (thus making the transformer more resistant to abuse). These transformers have what you'd expect out of a Dynaco transformer, like healthy low frequency inductance (over 1000 henries at 60 Hz), high resistance to distortion caused by output tube imbalance, and low distortion overall. What's so special about our Dynaco upgrade boards? The object of our upgrade boards is to provide a replacement for the original boards that would result in a perceptible improvement in sound quality and overall performance. These Dynaco upgrade boards emulate the simple but highly effective (due to the short signal path and single gain stage) original Dynaco circuit, but with lower hum, noise, distortion and a wider voltage swing across heavier loads than a 7199, 6GH8, 6BL8/ECF80, 6U8/ECF82, or 6AN8, are capable of. The manual includes information on adapting the amplifier to different output & board tubes, adjusting resistor & capacitor values if desired, plus a comprehensive Troubleshooting Guide. Our newest version of the EF86 board has been slightly revised to accept 6922, 6DJ8, 7308, and 6CG7 in the phase inverter position as well as 12AU7, 12BH7, and ECC99 that were previously supported. Our version of the classic Marshall JTM-45 amplifier, circa 1965. The JTM45 (Marshall's first amplifier) was Jim's version of Leo Fender's 5F6A Tweed Bassman amplifier. The circuits were nearly identical, but the JTM45 had a beefier power supply, and when used with KT66's & a 4x12 cab, this amp had a British voice all it's own! A glassy top end with warm & creamy midrange tones makes this amp desirable for many genres of music, especially classic rock & blues. The slower rectification from the GZ34 adds a slight sagging/smoldering quality to the tone which allows the player to really dig in and make her rip & sing! Like most 4 input Marshall style amps, you can bridge the the 2 channels for slightly more gain and control.
