33021/18Here for sale is the new 000-15SM all mahogany auditorium model from Martin. Truly the workingman's Martin, it's an all solid wood USA made acoustic. The 000-15M is a stripped down, modestly appointed, great playing and wonderful sounding guitar! The new ""15M"" series from Martin has borrowed a few design elements the 15 & 17 series guitars of the early 1900's. They added the minimal single gold ring rosette, vintage style open back tuners and a dark toner to give the guitar the look and feel of those great old guitars. They've upgraded a few features from the standard 15 series as well including bone nut & saddle and solid ebony bridge pins. The all mahogany construction yields a warm and woody character with great mid range definition and well rounded and controlled bass response. It's certainly not the loudest tonewood for a soundboard but the tradeoff for volume is a very sweet and articulate tone. The 000-15SM has a neck that joins the body at the 12th fret instead of the more typical 14th, a feature typical of early steel string guitars. A slotted headstock also ads to the traditional appearance of the 000-15S. This puts more string over the body and brings the headstock closer to the heel. The result is a guitar that sounds bigger then you might expect from such a small body and a compact overall feel. The 000-15SM is suitable for many styles of playing but makes a perfect fingerstyle or folk style guitar. This is an ideal guitar for a new or intermediate player but would make a great alternate if you already own a high end Golden Era or Authentic martin that you may not want to take to every gig or out on the road.
