2005 Gibson Les Paul R6 Goldtop, Excellent $2,895.00

SKU: GS3077926
Here's a guitar that a sure crowd pleaser among Les Paul lovers. This virtually unplayed R6 has one of the nicest neck profiles on the planet and the twin P- 90's are warm and just a tad mellower than the humbuckers found in some other reissues. They do clean up nicely with a bright, singing tone, but if you want to get dirty, they'll certainly do that as well. She weighs in at a very comfortable 9 lbs even and is fitted with straplocks, so there's little chance of it hitting the floor when you do your Slash dive off the stage right P.A. The COA and case candy are also present, so you'll be getting a complete 'Elk package just in time for Christmas. Thanks for looking! more information »

1969 Fender Telecaster Bass, Excellent $3,695.00

SKU: GS3085481
These first version Telecaster basses are pretty unique instruments; They represent a very specific time in Fender's history and harken back to the grand 50's in both their looks and tone. This particular bass is in excellent, original condition and has with it a few very cool items. The business card of the original owner is in the package- his band was "The Country Kings". The original Fender case tag is here, the original, matching number owner's manual as well as a page of handwritten, original song lyrics. All of these items make for a nice testament to the bass's history and we always enjoy finding them when we open a case for the first time. Now to the bass; If you're a fan of big, "C" necks, then you're in for a treat. The neck profile on this bass is quite substantial and believe me, you know you have grabbed onto a chunk of Maple when you first palm this beast. The tone is exactly as you would expect from the great single coil- huge and round. This is the perfect instrument for the bassist that plays the supporting role behind a busy guitar player. "It fills the room with the boom" as we like to say around the 'Elkcave and the bass weighs in at a very comfortable 9 lbs, 11 oz. The case is a later, mid- 70's Fender case, but that's what she came in so that's where she stays. With all the goodies included in the package, it pretty much evens out, value wise. You may also notice that other like basses are priced northward of 4k, but not here- we want this piece to go straight into the hands of a bass player that's looking for the "right one" so it's priced to move and is backed with the world- famous, ironclad 'Elk guarantee. It doesn't get any better than this, fellow low- enders so please call or email with any questions or requests. As always, 'Elk operators are standing by... more information »

1971 Fender Telecaster, Excellent $4,995.00

SKU: GS3088598
There's nothing like the twang of an original Tele and these early 70's examples are a buyer's dream in the current vintage market. You can avoid the cost of a Maple cap example while averting the somewhat inferior workmanship of the late 70's guitars. Sorry to put it like that, but the tooth is the tooth as we like to say. This particular Tele weighs in at 7 lbs, 11 oz which is a good weight for this era. There is minor wear on the upper edge of the neck, but the profile remains intact and playability is still great. There are a few finish checking lines on the body and a few chips- heck, I didn't look nearly as good as this when I was 42 years old. There are a lot of hard miles on my carcass, but not on this Tele- it's a smokin' player and still retains the cleanliness required to be considered as an investment piece. It's completely original and ready for a new home- please call or email today for details or additional photos! more information »

1990 Gibson Les Paul Standard Flametop Reissue, Excellent $3,995.00

SKU: GS3078113
At first glance, I thought this was a 1990 R0 and was getting ready to label it as such, but a quick conference with the boys over at the MyLesPaul.com forum quickly set me straight. It is, in fact a prehistoric Les Paul Standard reissue and when you see it in person, you'll realize that it bears what I refer to as "that 90's good wood". The Maple top is amazing and has a very distinct and intriguing type of figure. I have to also be clear that she's not for the faint of heart, weighing in at 9 lbs, 8 oz. That's not exactly LP Custom weight, but you better be in shape to lay out four sets of smokin' Rock or Blues with this girl. When we first received the guitar, we noticed that the front pickup ring was cracked and soon found ourselves in a dilemma: while we're known for 100% original and unaltered guitars and gear, this piece was so nice, we couldn't turn it away and now, what to do about the cracked ring. Being a bassist, I hastily voted that we waterboard the thing to see if we could get it to confess who broke the danged ring, but my Les Paul- loving business partner stepped in and quickly altered the plan. As it eventually worked out (to the great amusement of the axe), we replaced both rings with new, Gibson replacements and will include the originals in the case so the guitar will still have it's originality intact if the new owner decides to reinstall them. We think this guitar is a very nice representation of the beginnings of what has turned out to be a cultural phenomenon and one of the reasons there is such a term as "Slash Tone". If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, directions, kudos, inquiries or desires, please feel free to pick up the phone and give us a call, old school style. That's the way we like it around here anyway! more information »

2001 Rickenbacker 330, Excellent $1,495.00

SKU: GS3091025
I'd say that we've had more than our share of Rickys over the years, but we've never has a blue 330 so when we saw this one at the Dallas Guitar show, we just couldn't resist scooping it. You all know the deal with these "jangle jangle" machines, but to be able to do that and be....well, blue is nothing short of incredible. I'll also ask you for your forgiveness at the difference in picture tones, but this guitar, thinking it was special and being (here it comes) blue, gave me fits when I was photographing it. I mean this thing fought me like a Marlin and after I saw how some of the pictures turned out, it made me- you guessed it, blue. But, I shook it off and he we have a great guitar at a definite 'Elk price. And, if you ask Chicago Larry what he yells at Lee across every crowded guitar show he attends, he'll say "My Boy Blue"...no kidding! more information »

2009 Martin Elvis Presley D- 28, Excellent $4,495.00

SKU: GS3083678
What would a guitar befitting a King look like? Well, if that certain "King" in question just happened to be Elvis Presley, the guitar would look exactly like this one! This D-28 EP is # 144 of only 175 ever made, making it rare in and unto itself. But, the real story is the hand tooled leather that Elvis insisted on way back in 1955. I guess a man on his way up back in the 50's would want a guitar that made a statement about himself and what better way to proclaim to the world that there is a new sheriff in town (and his initials are E.P.) than to have a guitar custom made for himself? 'Elks, I'm not ashamed to admit, when I was a kid and Blue Hawaii or Kid Galahad came on, I, along with my brother watched every second of it. Later on as an adult, I took a tour of Graceland and man, if you have never been there, you can defiantly feel a presence when you first walk in. Elvis, to me was a great man whose spirit left an indelible mark on those he touched through his voice, his charity and his humility. In closing, this guitar is as unique as the Man that it was created for. In the words of Elvis Presley:

  • "Without a song, the day would never end,
  • Without a friend, a man ain't got a friend.
  • Without a song, the road would never bend,
  • Without a song, so I keep singing a song." more information »

    1992 Ibanez Iceman IC1000BK, 20th Anniversary, Excellent $3,195.00

    SKU: GS3078729
Aww yea, Kiss 1977 and the release of Kiss "Alive II". I'll never, for as long as I live forget the Christmas of '77. Being from a small town (Rome, Ga), the buzz in the Junior High hallways across the nation was none other than Kiss and the release of that album. Parents were inundated with adolescent requests for the record and that number just had to be monumental. For us kids, having bragging rights to be the first on the block to have it would be the equivalent of the fat kid in Willy Wonka that falls in the chocolate river. Yes, indulging. To be the first that came back after Christmas vacation proudly sporting just one of those tattoos that came in the insert. For me, it was wearing the ACE tattoo proudly. Do you remember that book that came in gate fold? What was it? Yea, it was "The Evolution of Kiss". Gene Simmons was indeed a master. Call him greedy, but that just didn't matter to a 13 year- old in the 70's. This was as close to sex as kids could ever come at that age. And, about the 20 songs on the album itself? Who cared, because Kiss could have recorded a rendition of "I've Got You Babe' and it would have been musical bliss to me. That is what Kiss meant to me, Ray and millions of other budding rock fans. So, when I see a guitar like this, it takes me right back to side 3 of that record. If you'll remember in "I Stole Your love," when Pauls says, "Guitar"? If you do, then we both have lived a parallel life and you are looking at the very guitar that always brings back the memory. If you don't, then I'm so sorry you missed it. more information »
