As most guitarists and studio musicians already know, it is virtually impossible to record natural sounding guitar tracks via the output jack (preamp out, line output, recording output or speaker output) of any guitar amp. The warm sound desired by most guitarists can only be created by the speaker of a good sounding guitar amp being mic\'d in the right environment. Direct amplifier outputs sound fake, fuzzy and extremely harsh. The AxeTrak alleviates this problem by allowing the user to connect directly from the speaker jack of their guitar amp to the input jack of the AxeTrak. The output of the AxeTrak is then plugged into a recording console, mixing board or computer soundcard using a standard low impedance microphone cable. This method of recording allows you to get a direct signal that includes the preamp tubes as well as the power tubes if using a tube amp. The REAL MCCOY CUSTOM 2 starts with the same primary tuning as the RMC1. Instead of a volume boost like the RMC1, the RMC2 has a side mounted pot for control of volume. The second case mounted control on the RMC2 is for control of the Q, or sharpness of the wah's attack. The RMC2's Q control shifts the position of the "sweet spot" within the sweep range. This control goes from the "standard" contour all the way to an ultra-sharp contour. The third control is an 11-position rotary switch to select the sweep range. The actual sweeps range from 2/3 of "normal" sweep range all the way to 1 1/2 times "normal" sweep range. Yes, "normal" is in the middle. The 5 sweep ranges that were found on the original RMC2 can also be found within the new 11 sweep ranges.

MRD is a high-gain distortion pedal, which was modelled after the 80's style compressed gain sounds. It is extremely easy (and lot of fun) to play, because its texture is adjusted to give clarity and definition also at heavy distortion. Gain range allows also low distortion sounds as well as stacking with other pedals, where an overdrive (preferably MP LGW) can pre-drive MRD for extreme and highly focused sounds. To get these gain levels with their impressive signal to noise ratio, they didn't use any noise gate or expander. Instead, they used special amplifier techniques and extreme low noise amplifier stages, which result in a natural decay and a rather high current consumption for a distortion pedal in view of battery operation.
