She's ALL ORIGINAL, including the original 3 way switch. The neck date on this guitar is 2OCT62B signifying the date, October 1962. The number "2" to signify a Stratocaster neck and the "B" signifies a 1 5/8" nut width. "B" is the normal neck width with "A" being the narrowest, and "C" being wider. Headstock logo decal has three patent numbers. The serial number, 87500 is located on the back metal neck plate and the pot codes read 304 62 42 and 304 62 32, signifying the 42 and 32 week of 1962. Body date 10/62. Black Bottom pickups with no marking...as it should be for 1962. Also, has the waxed cloth pickup wires with black for ground and white for hot lead, period correct for 1962. It's finish exhibits the wonderful, natural wear associated with years and years of use. She still has the original frets and they are in great shape! Comes with the Fender Hardshell Case pictured. You'll notice in the photos that the tip of the pickguard that broke off was replaced, no big deal. What is a big deal is the magic of the legendary 1962 Stratocaster and the love, the blood, sweat and tears of the players who created the legend. This guitar is one lean mean TONE MACHINE! Weighing in at 7.3 lbs, she's light and resonate! But man, plug this baby in, and WOW! The tone of this guitar is FAT, WARM AND FULL. TONE, TONE AND MORE TONE and the Brazilian Rosewood board gives an added fullness and warmth to the tone! The hallmark of a Vintage Strat pickup is it's ability to change tonal color with the force of change in pick attack, giving an array of tonal voicing. The bridge has just enough bite to let the strings ring through while distorted without getting too muddy or muffled and the mid and neck pups provide a wide array of clean and natural tones. She screams Hendrix/SRV with great harmonics and overtones, powerful, punchy and sweet too! She has a very RARE Maple top, back and sides, with a sweeeeeet and sultry SunBurst Finish and a beautiful rosewood fretboard to top it off... she's perfect!
This kind of wood is not only very rare, but it is also very resonate. Sound is captured as stress between the grain and travels as it resonates through the body adding an extra dimension of sound. Along with the "Sustain Sisters," Gibson's original design, 2 5/8" solid brass circular studs, implanted in the center block into which the Tune-O-Matic Bridge is set, brilliance and sustain are further enhanced. When a string is played, these Sustain Sisters convert the string variations to physical energy, thus activating the top to do it's thing. The exceptional tonal characteristics are also achieved by the mass and density of the solid Maple Center Block, which is warmed by 2 thin pieces of close grained spruce, above and below, forming the connecting line with the body, pioneered by Gibson in 1958. The solid center section along with the streamlined thinner hollowed chambers between the top and bottom, adds fullness and harmony that provide a spectacular sound. The double-cutaway design allows for greater fret access, along the fast, low action neck. Classic semi-hollowbody design and dual '57 Gibson humbuckers combine to produce everything from full-bodied growls to singing sustain. SKU: GS72368
This SG Special is a Custom Shop masterpiece! Based on the historic SG of the early 60's, it's the model Pete Townshend used (and abused) exclusively on stage from 1968 until 1971, and the guitar with which he’s most famously associated. It has the 60' slim taper neck with small black pickguard, P-90 pickups and a wraparound bridge. Adding to the attractive features of the guitar, is the Gloss finish which greatly enhances the grain of the wood.
This guitar is the only guitar for down and dirty rock and roll! The P-90s really growl and bite with stinging highs, punchy mids and tight lows. Bridge position is fierce and clear with powerful and coiled crunch when gain and volume are dialed up. Great classic, raunchy tone!

SKU: GS73881
She's ALL ORIGINAL, RARE and BEAUTIFUL with a Premium ASH body and a Sienna Sunburst finish. Nearly 30 years vintage and in better than EXCELLENT SHAPE, showing a a little wear, a few nicks, a couple of dings and tarnished hardware, which only ads character to the vintage vibe. Comes with the NOHSC and tons of MOJO!
The big headstock, three-bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod and classic "F" tuners all mark the times as well as the attitude of the Rock'n Roll years! She has the original 5 way switch, 3 ply white black white pickguard and original matching 3 single coil FIRST EDITION 80'S BLACK BOBBIN pickups with flush poles. The serial number S997959 on the headstock dates to 1979 with matching serial number sticker in the neck pocket. Virgin soldier joints however, I can only read the pot codes on one of the pots (13781xx) and the neck dates to '82. All period correct for the time.
Seasoned to perfection with tone to die for, resonate and sweet with great harmonics and overtones, powerful and punchy. She screams Hendrix/SRV. She's got the high end fidelity to really scream, bite, soar and articulate. Action is light, she plays like butter. Medium frets with plenty of life left are perfect for bends. She really nails those Blues licks with more control and a bigger bite. Acoustically, she has more resonance than any. You can feel the vibration all over the entire guitar and plugged in she will BLOW YOU AWAY with incredible sustain and power.
