The three-bolt neck plate, bullet truss rod and classic "F" tuners all mark the times as well as the attitude of the Rock'n Roll years. And, along with a BIG headstock comes a BIG helping of that 70's MOJO MAGIC! She's ALL ORIGINAL, in better than EXCELLENT CONDITION and comes complete with original HSC. Upgraded 5 way switch, a pro refret and one changed pot, however the original is included. Original pot codes read 1377412, 1377412 and 1377430. The serial number is 568134 and the neck date (09013744) all positively date to 1974, as does the matching original 3 single coil gray bottom pickups with staggered poles, Fender F tuners, 3-ply white-black-white guard. The beautiful Sunburst finish has some really cool checking on the front and back of the body and only a couple a nicks that keep the guitar from being mint. She's looks like a "closet classic" only of the vintage nature... Looks like a time capsule piece and plays like butter with incredible sustain, but not at the expense of the clarity of tone. She's got plenty of twang and the power of a cannon! The action is light, intonation is perfect and the frets are fat, great for bends. Nearly 30 years vintage and in better than EXCELLENT SHAPE, it just doesn't get any better!
Seasoned to perfection with tone to die for, resonate and sweet with great harmonics and overtones, powerful and punchy. She's got the high end fidelity to really scream, bite, soar and articulate. Action is light, she plays like butter and really nails those Blues licks with more control and a bigger bite. Medium Frets are like new, perfect for bends and stays in tune better than a tremolo. She plays effortlessly and sounds awesome. The sustain is incredible but not at the expense of the clarity. This is a better sounding Strat than any of the reissues, no wonder the vintage prices on these '70's CBS Strats are climbing rapidly. It's because of the BIG FAT TONE!

The saddles were replaced, but the originals are included. Comes complete with the owners manual, original inspection tag and Fender molded hardshell case.

The D-18V is the "creme de la creme." All the looks and the classic tone that has elevated the CF Martin name over the decades show through in this fine guitar. The tone is deep, rich and beautifully balanced. It's that sweet warm full bodied BIG FAT TONE of Elvis in the early years. If you are a connoisseur of guitars and you demand the very best, you owe it to yourself to play the D-18V.
The D-18V features solid genuine mahogany construction in the back, sides, and neck, and a solid Sitka spruce top. The soft V profile is great for getting good leverage around the upper neck and it gradually rounds out a bit towards the 12th to 14th frets. The fingerboard and bridge are both made from solid ebony. More timeless appointments include old style dot inlays, bone nut and saddle, nickel Gotoh tuners with butterbean knobs, and intricate binding designs. The entire instrument is finished in a special varnish for an "aged" look, and sports the old style CF Martin logo on the headstock.
The big difference between a standard D-18 and the D-18V is that Martin's famous "X-bracing" has been shifted 0.5 inch closer to the sound hole. The result is that a larger area of the top vibrates in response to string movements. A larger vibrating area means that the D-18V has the potential to play louder and with more bass.

This kind of wood is not only very rare, but it is also very resonate. Sound is captured as stress between the grain and travels as it resonates through the body adding an extra dimension of sound. Along with the "Sustain Sisters," Gibson's original design, 2 5/8" solid brass circular studs, implanted in the center block into which the Tune-O-Matic Bridge is set, brilliance and sustain are further enhanced. When a string is played, these Sustain Sisters convert the string variations to physical energy, thus activating the top to do it's thing.
