DIY Build or Rebuild Kit for a Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Amplifier. A truly classic amplifier heard on countless recordings from the 50's & 60's. Great for Blues, Country, Jazz, and even Classic Rock! A cathode biased pair of 6V6's create a fat and earthy tone that sounds best when pushed hard. Approximately 12-15W output makes this a perfect amplifier for the studio, or small gigging situations. Just like the original, this amp has 2 channels, with 2 inputs per channel, each with a volume control and one shared tone control. Though the controls are minimalistic, the true beauty of this circuit comes from the interaction of the volume controls.
The kit includes a High Quality, Hand Made in USA Turret Board, Sprague Orange Drop or Mallory 150 Series Coupling Caps, F&T Electrolytic Power Supply/Filter Capacitors (or Sprague Atom for a $12 upcharge), High Quality Resistors, CTS Potentiometers, Chicken Head Knobs, Belton Sockets, Jacks, Fuse Holder, 2 Switches, Pilot Lamp Holder & Jewel, Power Cord, Super TF110/041318 (Paper Bobbin, like the old school ones). This Exclusive Made in USA output transformer has outputs for 4, 8, ohms & 16 ohms, as well as Ultra-Linear screen taps, if you wish to use them. Or you can choose our Best Selling, Made in USA TF110 (Plastic Bobbin) Deluxe Output Transformer, which has 4 & 8 ohm taps. For Power Transformer, you can choose between the 40-18021, 40-18017, or 40-18016. The 40-18021 is a standard Tweed Deluxe style PT, with a 710V CT HV winding. The 40-18016(120V) & 40-18017(120/240V) have a lower HV winding at 660V CT, increased current capability on all windings, which allows you to use different rectifier tube types, add additional tube stages, or upgrade your amplifier to use 6L6's! Tear the guts out of that solid state combo and build this inside. You can also order without transformers. Great for DIY Builds. All you need is the Chassis, Cabinet, & Speaker!!
