There's nothing like the twang of an original Tele and these early 70's examples are a buyer's dream in the current vintage market. You can avoid the cost of a Maple cap example while averting the somewhat inferior workmanship of the late 70's guitars. Sorry to put it like that, but the tooth is the tooth as we like to say. This particular Tele weighs in at 7 lbs, 11 oz which is a good weight for this era. There is minor wear on the upper edge of the neck, but the profile remains intact and playability is still great. There are a few finish checking lines on the body and a few chips- heck, I didn't look nearly as good as this when I was 42 years old. There are a lot of hard miles on my carcass, but not on this Tele- it's a smokin' player and still retains the cleanliness required to be considered as an investment piece.
