FSC.org
The Forest Stewardship Council's website carries information about the goals, processes and projects of the FSC. It also contains information on how to help the cause - from how to become FSC certified to a comprehensive search engine of FSC certificate holders.

Musicwood.org
The official MusicWood website features interactive maps that illustrate where common tonewoods come from, an interactive guitar model that shows what wood is used on which parts of the guitar, posters, video interviews, public service announcements, news releases, wood profiles and more.

Smartwood.org
The SmartWood website works within the website of the Rainforest Alliance, which hosts a vast array of resources, from their Adopt-A-Rainforest program to FSC certification reports to numerous ways for individuals and corporations to get involved.

Soundwood.org
Soundwood is a component of Fauna and Flora International's Global Trees campaign. In addition to highlighting Soundwood's educational projects and their conservation efforts not covered in our article, the website boasts a comprehensive list of tree profiles. Check out Soundwood's Guide to the Guitar, which highlights the efforts of some lesser-known luthiers.
