Phoenix Guitar Company: The Baby Phoenix
The Baby Phoenix is a 14” lower bout, fully acoustic archtop with a single pickup. This instrument is made with a sitka spruce top, flame maple sides and back, and a 5-piece neck consisting of flame maple on the outside, birdseye maple in the center and veneers of walnut separating the two. The bindings are flame koa, and the fingerboard is solid ebony, with a 16” radius and a 24.9” scale length. The neck features a 2-way adjustable truss rod and two carbon fiber rods for stiffness.
The inlay was done with mother of pearl and abalone shell (green and pink) for the Phoenix bird, tail, and the fret markers. The bonsai tree was inlaid using reconstituted stone of various colors.
