How various woods affect acoustic tone

Premier Guitar April 2008

Fort Wayne, IN (April 8, 2008) - Think you know the difference between a koa guitar and one made with mahogany? Do you know why so many people prefer spruce tops? These are some of the many topics discussed at Taylor's traveling road show. Check it out:

We caught up with the Taylor Road Show at Sweetwater's corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Road Show is a chance for guitar nuts to gather and learn about guitars, play and hang out. About 200 people, young and old, showed up for the Fort Wayne stop. Taylor's Brian Swerdfeger and Rick Fagan demo'd guitars, taught everyone about guitar design and hammed it up, too. The "Petting Zoo" portion of the evening was a big hit, of course; giving everyone a chance to fire up new Taylors.
