New York, NY (June, 2008) -- Premier Guitar is On Location in New York City -- checking out one of the planet's hottest hotĀ spots for guitars, West 48th Street.

Manny's is the most famous high end shop of the bunch. The gear selection is impressive but it's the history that gives the store its unique vibe. Pretty much every big name you can thinkĀ of has a signed glossy on the wall. The store's famous demo guitar has been in the hands of Hendrix, the Beatles, you name it, but remember - they came for the gear. It ain't too shabby.

Memo to the PG video crew. Your magazine is pretty decent and you have advertising relationships with a lot of manufactures. Why don't you ask Shure or Sennheiser to equip your video crew(s) with wireless body mics so we can hear what they person you're interviewing is saying. 75% of what Sam had to say was difficult to hear because he wasn't ON MIC!

Sorry to hear about Manny's. I bought a Fender Showman in 1965. It was my first time in Manny's and the vibe was great. In the window was a drum set used by Ringo. It was the place to be and I was there. Memories hey?

Doesn't compare to Gruhn's in Nashville- now there's a shrine!

So sad to see that you are closeing this spring{Premier Guitar news letter.}There are less and less independent shops and damn few of your level.
While I have never had the chance to visit your shop in person the video's and articles had it at the top of must visit if in New York.

Sam Ash may own it but the Goldrich's are still there. Service is still great, the selection of guitars is still fantastic and the help know their stuff.

Manny's definately has history, but it is no longer Manny's. It is a Sam Ash store in disguise. Nothing like it was 20 years ago. If you want to go to the only REAL quality guitar shop in New York, visit Rudy's. I've been shopping there for almost 20 years. Great products, and great service! The classiest place to go.

I went to Manny's back in the early *0's and then again in 2006 and I'll tell you Manny's is nothing like it used to be. It looks and feels like a Sam ASh Superstore... and I'm not saying I like that.
