Sleek and beautiful bass from luthier Roger Morillo

Premier Guitar April 2009

Question: What has a body of mahogany, a maple neck, a Macassar ebony fingerboard, and a Camphor burl top that produces the aroma of cinnamon when its case is opened?

Answer: This bass by Roger Morillo, a luthier at St. Albans, West Virginia’s Fret ‘n Fiddle. The 35” scale bass, called The Moreland, also features 26 frets, Bartolini pickups and Aguilar electronics.
