Thanks, Lawrence. yeah... it's one of my missions for guitarists to know the functions of the notes they are playing, so that they are in control of how they want their chords to sound. Happy Holidays, All!

Great lesson Dean. I've tried to explain this to other guitar players, and it's like trying to drive nails into concrete. I usually say that these shapes are inversions, and that helps, sometimes. I also like to add the 6th and minor 6th (very versatle chord, because it mimics the m7b5)
