We're the Mad Men that created 95% of Dean Markley String&Amp ads from 1980 thru 2010. Go to: revolutiionary.net Click on Portfolio and Dean Markley cache. Our agency based in San Jose, CA and still humping. Andrew Joaquin Ramirez revolutionary.net

Where is the Dean Guitar ad "Feel The Difference" (aka the one with a young, blonde, well-endowed woman wearing a white bikini and holding a sunburst Flying V)?????

I always felt the Skolnick "Endangered Species" advert would prove to be quite prophetic- only I thought the entities that would eventually kill the "Metal Musician" wouldn't be censorship per se` but rather cRap "music"/Electronica & Grunge... which were thriving at the time of the ad.

Awesome! I agree with Dan, this should definitely be a monthly feature! Not only do I remember all of these, but I probably still HAVE these and more in a scrapbook! (fond memories) Where`s the Dean chick in the water with white bikini and Flying V? Tasteful advertising at it`s best (LOL)! Thanks

I used to hang some of these weird and cool ads on the wall of my teenager room in the early 80s. Fun to see these but there are more gems out there.

Was there a Dean Markley ad featuring Vinnie Vincent???

I remember every single one of these ads! I have been a metal fan/playing guitar since I was 12 years old so I've read tons of different music mags. It seemed every manufacturer had a stupid Crackle guitar finish? Satch with hair... ha ha. Ibanez ran a lot of sweet ads.
In the 80's(my era), you needed hair(full or mulletstyle), neon/crazy painted pointy guitars, Pouty stage moves in glamour pants and liberal doses of dude, man, rockon, etc. I miss those innocent times of beer fueled evenings in dumpy bars with older divorcees hitting on me.
Party on!!

Thanks for this 80's ads special.
I've been buying guitar mags since 1988 so slide after slide I would go "Oh, yeah I rmemeber this one!"
Dean Markley has not given up the racy ads, look for this year's "Stimulus package" ad (I believe it has also ran on Premier Guitar) it's definitely worthy of its 80's ancestors!
