Microphones come off stage and get dropped into these tins. The metal of the tins immediately blocks the wireless signal and it drops off of the receiver, despite the microphones still being on. We were told they go through thousands of batteries for the wireless packs—running through bricks of 2400 batteries at a time. They change out batteries constantly.
