Much ballyhooed as perhaps the hottest new amp at the LA Amp Show, Joe Morgan’s RCA 35 drew constant crowds where it was set up in the Mercury Magnetics room. The amp is a small, 35-watt, full tone stack amp with lots of volume, extremely musical chime, controllable breakup and jazz-ready cleans. Powered by Mercury transformers and two 6L6s (it can also run on 6V6, KT66, KT77 and 5881 tubes), the amp has two 12AX7s in the preamp and has a GZ34 rectifier.
