I actually liked GNR's latest album; and as I have not heard Slash's last few solo 'projects' (I was never a big fan of his playing, personally), who's to tell 'what' or 'who' is 'better.' I'm of the belief that if you like the music an artist makes, you are always going to stick up for that artist's talent and efforts. These guys are ALL hugely talented, and if they weren't, they certainly wouldn't be up there playing for a group as massive as GNR. Also, I believe that a lot of people didn't even LISTEN TO ALL OF THE ALBUM 'CHINESE DEMOCRACY'; they just went on the premise of the bad press it's received and didn't even give it a chance because it wasn't 'THE ORIGINAL BAND.' If they would have, there is absolutely NO DENYING the talent of the said musicianship. And anyways, who's to tell an album with the original members would be any better. That's a question that we'll probably NEVER have answered.

Richard Fortus has been my all time favorite guitarist since the 80's. He's the only guitarist that I could be blindfolded and recognize his playing, a true individual talent all his own. B Now when it comes to bass, Flea would be the only other player I could also recognize blindfolded. I know them both personally, and can also say that their musical talents are just a mere part of what makes them "special". Rich hasn't a bad bone in his body, so polite and respectful to others. And Flea is a true love hippy, playful and poetic. And both of them, are madly in love with their daughters. Their kids have rounded out all their most passionate of dreams.

I give New GN'R credit for what they have achieved. CD is a great record! However one listen to Slash's new live album "Live In Stoke" and it's immediately obvious what this New GN'R is missing. New GN'R do a great job of recreating something Slash and Izzy invented and that boys and girls is where the difference lies. That is not to slag these guys because they do a great job. They are a great band and musicians, but none of those dudes changed the history of rock guitar. Slash and Izzy did. There are millions of amazing guitar players, a few hundreds true guitar heroes and only one Slash!!!

You guys keep telling us these guy do what slash and izzy only better? really! I've seen bumble foot and i've seen slash. honestly slash is just a better player. Izzy wrote alot of gnr songs that we love. Remeber what brought you guys to guns in the first place. By the way slash's record has out sold axls and with out the gnr name. The new guns are a shallow version of the original members with its MTV Ready made audience. Its sad gnr is a business now. Axl has lost is mojo. How many years to make a the record. Chinese D is on sale at Best Buy for .99 cents you tell me.

Gn'r fan from Appetite to Chinese D. Still uncomfortable calling this group Gn'r but it is what it is. It works both ways, as I believe if Axl chose to do this thing and make this album under a different band name..then these guys and that friggin album (Chinese) would get the respect that is deserving. The key here will be to continue to play kick ass shows and change people's minds. If they end the current tour by disappearing again...that would be terrible.
Keep playing, take a break and go nail another album..because I'm convinced it will be brilliant

These three wonderful guitarists have such a talent that we could be brought to wonder how that is possible! It is can be for it that we are interested in their magnificent guitars by hoping to find a beginning of answer here.all simply, their sumptuous guitars are worthy of their immense talent! There is there of what to make dream all the musicians of the earth!

Actually... to be quite blunt, Bumblefoot and DJ Ashba are light years ahead of Izzy in talent. Slash is an amazing guitarist; however Bumblefoot is a pure musician. Keep in mind, the "new guys" are limited to what they are allowed to do and Axl dictates who plays what. That being said, the "older" version of Guns albeit an awesome band... could never replicate their studio sound live; a feat to which the current Gunners are able to do simply because of numbers. Basically what I am trying to say is that Izzy and Slash are NOT better than Bumblefoot and Ashba based on previous and current work. Now, just because someone looks up to someone -- it certainly does NOT mean that they aren't "as good" as the person they admire (IE: Steve Vai loved Elvis; is Elvis a better guitarist or musician all around?). As Slash is a truly talented individual; one on one... Bumblefoot shreds him apart. If you are again referring to the actual "music writing" - blame Axl for the direction that the band as a whole is going; he is the one who tells everyone what to do... he is the boss! On the sales side... record sales were at an all time high when Guns first arrived on the scene (not counting support by MTV who was actually music television back then), there was no such thing as downloading music for free, there were actually record stores back then, YouTube was non-existant to view concerts from the convenience of your own couch, it was a completely different economic structure all together. Hmmm, were Velvet Revolver's sales SO amazing? How about Slash's Snakepit or Duff's project? Izzy can't even get a gig from the way things look; the only time he has shown his face has been at recent Guns N' Roses shows as a guest! Anyway, I just think that people should think before opening their mouths about things that they just don't seem to understand, or are just not educated enough to make comments on hard-working people. Old Guns is gone.
