@harlan: As I remember it, the original white guitar WAS the prototype. When Randy ordered another one (the black one that become the iconic Randy Rhoads model), Grover literally took a duplicate of the original to the band saw and cut the shark fin shape out of it. Randy had asked for something more drastic...that's what Grover gave him in the shark fin shape. I also recall that Randy could not watch it being cut...couldn't deal with it. I respect that.

It is great to see that Randy's memory is as alive today as it ever was. He was an immeasurably talented player and a humble human being. I work with Grover Jackson at our new company GJ2 Guitars. Grover has created a new take on the guitar that he designed with Randy which we are calling the "Concorde". If you want to know the story of how that guitar came to be, it is frequently documented but the latest version is in the book "Randy Rhoads" by Steven Rosen and Andrew Klein published by Velocity Publishing.

Im speechless, dont know why some of these guys are so mean and negative, I would like to just sit in the room with those guitars and meditate, I am gonna call Kelle soon and take a visit out there. Those first 2 records, Blizzard and Diary are cathardic , very emotionally turbulent. Just saw some rare footage and I just froze.

What kind of frets did he use on his guitars??I can tell they are not jumbo,or medium-jumbo..how small can ya go?

I would literally shake just being in the room with one. Randy had so much else to offer the world. His guitar playing left a mark in history that cannot be wiped away. RIP Randy!

I'm not a huge V guy, but the moment I see RR's original Jacksons, I instantly GAS for one.

its just my opinion, but i believe a bass player is alot like a stereo, a stereo is only as good as its speakers. i believe a great guitar player sparks a fire in a good bass player to make him great too. its called chemistry. ill always remember randy for what he brought to the table. new and fresh and vibrant! i truly believe randy was truly gifted with music, touched with a bit of rebel, to stretch the boundries, to take us where we never have been before. your legacy is an element of its own. thank you randy.

just a question, because im not sure.. but how come jackson had to measure this guitar? they built it the first time... wouldnt they have the prototype of the first one? im really curious about this. or did randy altar the specifics of this guitar himself?
